Clinical Supervision for Licensure
Psychological Health Roanoke (PHR) will offer internships, residencies and practica to selected individual who are completing their training to become Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
Any interested student can apply for a position with PHR by submitting a Curriculum Vitae (CV) or resume with a cover letter. Please complete the inquiry form below with the attached document.
In order to secure a position, one of the clinicians on staff must agree to be the supervisor of the student, the applicant must be approved by the operations committee, and it must be approved by the licensing board before supervision.

What does it consist of?
The supervisee will provide services that consist of the supervisee joining their supervisor in session with the supervisor’s client, being supervised during a session lead by the supervisee, the supervisee seeing clients independently, weekly clinical supervision and a daily review of their documentation by the supervising clinician.

Is there compensation?
Yes! The Supervisee will be employed by Psychological Health Roanoke and pay will be discussed at time of employment.

What about Supervision?
Once you have been approved to begin residency with PHR, you will meet with your supervising clinician and review all agency policy and regulations. The resident will be expected, at this time, to review any paperwork for supervision that they, and the clinical supervisor, need to complete. Clinical supervision will be provided, as directed by the applicable licensing board, for each resident for 1 hour each week. Supervising clinician will be available to resident, when the resident is at work, to consult on any crisis / emergent issues.

Will supervision cost me extra?
NO! Supervision is provided at no additional cost to the supervisee.

Will I have to document?
Yes. The supervisee is expected to complete all necessary documentation on any client they are seeing. The supervising clinician will show the resident how to complete required documentation and will review all documentation the resident submits for approval. All documentation will be signed by the supervising clinician and co-signed by the supervisee.

Do I need Liability Insurance?
Yes. The supervisee is responsible for carrying their own liability insurance, at the minimum level required by Virginia. This information will need to be provided to the PHR office manager prior to providing any direct service to clients.
